Old Doha Port (ODP) has announced a wide-ranging summer programme featuring recreational activities, events, and enhanced visitor services, reinforcing its status as one of Qatar’s leading waterfront destinations.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the port said the seasonal initiative has been designed to offer residents and tourists a dynamic blend of sports, leisure, wellness, and maritime experiences throughout the summer months.

The programme includes the continuation of a weekly running event held every Tuesday, alongside a series of fitness and wellness activities hosted at the Terminal Building. Women’s fitness sessions will also be organised in the City Exhibition area as well as in front of the aquarium at the Cruise Terminal, providing distinctive waterfront settings for participants.

To improve visitor comfort during the hotter months, Old Doha Port is introducing several accessibility upgrades. Internal road access within the Mina District will be allowed for vehicles, making it easier for visitors to reach restaurants, cafés, retail outlets, and attractions while reducing walking distances.

Additional services include valet parking to support smoother movement across the destination, along with complimentary golf cart transport in Mina Park and the Mina District to facilitate easy travel between key locations.

The port will also highlight its maritime identity through a variety of water-based activities at Container Yard, including fishing, surfing, jet skiing, and other recreational marine experiences aimed at strengthening its appeal as a summer leisure hub.

Dedicated fishing platforms will be available along Mina Park’s waterfront, opposite the Fish Market, offering enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy traditional fishing while overlooking Doha’s skyline.

Through its expanded programme, Old Doha Port aims to create a vibrant, family-friendly destination that combines sport, wellness, dining, shopping, and maritime leisure, reflecting both Qatar’s coastal heritage and its growing tourism ambitions.
