2. UAE/Oman Dibba Border Post
Route E99, through Fujairah, leads to the southern areas of Musandam, including Dibba and Zaghi, providing a gateway to beautiful coastal regions.
3. Khatmat Milaha Border Post
Heading in the opposite direction on Route E99 through Fujairah allows access to the northern cities of Oman, such as Sohar and Muscat.
4. Hatta Crossing/Al Wajajah Border Post
The Al Wajajah Crossing, accessible via Route E44, is another route to reach Muscat or explore Oman’s northern regions.
5. Mezyad Border Post
Located in Al Ain, the Mezyad border post connects to southern Oman, including the popular summer destination of Salalah, which experiences the monsoon season from June to September.

What to Do When Arriving at the Oman Border
Step 1: Pay Exit Fee
Upon reaching the UAE border post, travelers must pay an exit fee of AED 35.
Step 2: Get Your Visa Stamped
Next, park your car and enter the immigration section to have your visa stamped in your passport.
Step 3: Apply for Oman Motor Insurance
Check with your insurance provider to see if your policy covers Oman. Many UAE insurance companies offer Oman coverage for free with comprehensive plans.
If not, you can purchase an ‘Orange Card’ at the border, which provides basic third-party coverage. The minimum duration for this policy is five days, costing around AED 106.
Step 4: Undergo Car Inspection
Finally, customs officers will conduct a brief inspection of your vehicle before you can enter Oman.
Driving a Borrowed Vehicle?
If using a borrowed car, ensure you have a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the owner, notarized and translated into Arabic. This certificate should state permission for you to use the vehicle, including all necessary details.
These steps ensure a smooth transition as you explore the beautiful landscapes and attractions of Oman!
