As flight operations face disruption and certain routes are suspended, travelers remain undeterred. UAE airlines have canceled flights to countries like Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iran, prompting some to rethink their destinations.
However, many are choosing to explore regions that are unaffected by the turmoil, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
Halima Mossa, an Emirati from Dubai, plans to perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia this July. “Despite the ongoing tensions, I feel safe traveling to Saudi Arabia,” she stated, reflecting the sentiments of many who prioritize their traditions.
Although she hesitated at first about traveling to Turkey, she remains hopeful that conditions will improve soon.
Conversely, Abdullah, a frequent traveler from Abu Dhabi, is excited about his upcoming trip to Indonesia. “I booked my flight with Qatar Airways, and the confirmation reassures me that the route is safe,” he mentioned.

Abdullah is committed to following government advisories and taking precautions to ensure his safety while traveling.
For some, travel represents a deep connection to family. Al Muhannadi, another Emirati, plans to visit relatives despite initial concerns.
“I miss my family, and if flights are suspended, I can return by land,” he explained, highlighting the importance of family ties in his decision-making.
While many are continuing their travel plans, others are canceling trips to countries like Georgia and Armenia, fearing potential disruptions.
The ongoing conflict is reshaping travel choices, but for those who prioritize their traditions and connections, the desire to travel remains strong.
As the situation evolves, UAE residents are navigating their travel plans with caution, balancing their love for exploration with the realities of a changing geopolitical landscape.
