Dubai: How to Get a Medical Fitness Test for a UAE Visa

Dubai: If you’re planning to relocate to Dubai, completing a medical fitness test is a crucial step in your residence visa application. This test is mandatory for all expatriates aged 18 and above.
In Dubai, medical fitness centres operate under Dubai Health, the emirate’s first integrated academic health system.

There are 21 centres across the city that provide the necessary health checks for residence visa issuance and renewal, as well as occupational medical screening services.
To obtain a work or residence permit in the UAE, foreign nationals must undergo a medical fitness test to verify they are free from communicable diseases like HIV and tuberculosis. The test includes a physical examination, a blood test, and a chest X-ray.

- Al Garhoud Medical Fitness Centre
- Hours: Mon-Thu 7am – 9:30pm, Fri 7am – 11:30am, 4pm – 7:30pm, Sat 7:30am – 2pm
- Al Nahda Medical Fitness Centre
- Hours: Mon-Thu 7am – 9:30pm, Fri 7am – 11:30am, 4pm – 7:30pm, Sat 7:30am – 2pm
- Dubai Airport Medical Fitness Centre
- Open 24/7
For expedited services, Smart Salem Centres offer results within 30 minutes, compared to the standard 24 working hours.
The cost for the medical fitness test ranges from AED 250 to AED 300 for regular services, while Smart Salem Centres charge AED 700.
