Key Responsibilities:
- Execute comprehensive mechanical overhauls and repairs on marine diesel engines, encompassing both main and auxiliary engines.
- Conduct testing, repair, and overhaul of marine engines and hydraulic systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Utilize hand and power tools specifically designed for marine equipment maintenance.
- Remove and refit propellers and tailshafts, including the replacement of seals.
- Develop specifications for and recommend the procurement of marine engine spare parts.
- Carry out thorough overhauls of various engines, pumps, compressors, and valves.
- Maintain a pristine work environment and adhere to proper torque specifications during reassembly.
- Operate independently while receiving guidance from the Mechanical Foreman.
- Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul a diverse range of diesel engines, ensuring compliance with established safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or an ITI certificate in diesel engines, preferably with a specialization in marine applications.
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience as a technician specializing in marine diesel engines and gearboxes.
- Basic computer proficiency is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in English and Hindi is preferred.
